What do Buddha figures mean?

Let me tell you something about Buddha dharma. That is a religious and philosophic teaching, born in Asia around the sixth century B.C. The founder of this teaching is Siddhartha Buddha, and the main goal of this teaching is to reach nirvana. For the people who are following this religion nirvana is the upper point of happiness, this is like an awakening for them and the best way to achieve it is through meditation.

This kind of religion is like psychology, it helps people not to be a burden for the society and to solve their problems. And that is pretty much what psychology does. But to be honest Buddhism is much more than just that. It teaches you how to experience life and space as happiness and joy, not like a threat. When you start exploring the Buddhism you start developing your mind, you get more courage, you feel more love around you. And all these feelings come when you are doing the meditation in the right way.

And that is the reason why Buddha figures are usually made in such a position. The most common thing for him was to sit and meditate searching his nirvana. He had a fabulous life of royal person and everything was like a fairytale for him, until one day he met a really old, poor and dying man and he found out that there are other things in life which are more important than just having fun and that nothing lasts forever. That is why he left the castle and went in the mountains – to search the truth. And because he is the founder of this religion you can find a lot of different Buddha figures now, showing him meditating in different positions.

Even these are just Buddha figures, if you hold just one you can feel the harmony there is inside it. Is it because of the way it looks or that you know who does it represent and the story behind it , but there is something like a little mystery about these figures. It is like they exhale calmness. And may be that is exactly what we need in our stressful life, full of daily tasks and worries about the job, about the family, about the payments and so on. So everyone needs a little time to feel like the only person in the world. And one of the ways to achieve such a self-knowledge is through Buddhism. And a part of the Buddhism culture, of course, is the Buddha figures.

And if you accept this religion and use it like your guiding light in your life, than you really need to visit the biggest Buddha figures and statues in the world. Most of them are situated in Hong Kong and Asia, because this is the part of the world where Buddhism was born and the people there follow it. When you visit such a place you can feel the greatness of this religion.

So try to reach your nirvana, using meditation or some other way. After the entire main target for people is to reach the happiness, and to live their lives knowing that they are happy and that they have achieved something.
