This is an absolutely gorgeous statue. There is a felt-like material on the bottom, and there are little mirrors on its trim, and all the detail is very well done from the woodgrain pattern on his chest to the flowers in his robe and the folds of the robe. My one gripe is that it weighs about 5.5 lbs, much lighter than I was expecting. It gives it a "hollow" feel.

I ordered from Oriental Furniture, and the shipping was fast and it arrived in perfect condition.

As a frequent library patron, I initially borrowed this book from my local library. I loved it so much that I felt I needed to own a copy of my own. Jack Kornfield introduced me to Buddhism several years ago and I now own several of his books. This book includes excerpts from books, sometimes only a page or less, authored by current, respected teachers of Buddhism. As a reader of books on Buddhism, most of their names were familiar to me but not all. I view these cited books and their authors as Kornfield's best-of-the-best list. In the future, with this book in hand, I feel that Jack Kornfield will be my own personal guide to future Buddhist reading.

I savor this book, and it sits near the meditation cushion in my home. This is my current daily reader. What I enjoy about the book is the wide breadth of buddhist teachers whose wisdom appear in the pages of this book. There are few people more qualified than Jack Kornfield to edit a book like this. Due to a hectic life in this modern world, and living a 90 minute drive from Spirit Rock, I am limited in the amount of face to face time I get with live buddhist teachers. This book does me the service of bringing to my very living room wise teachers from all corners of the globe sharing some of the best of what the dharma has to offer.

This book is written in clear and understandable English. It gives very understandable explanations of all major Buddhist Dhamma teachings while avoiding all the mythology that entered Buddhism in the later centuries. This summary of the Pali Canon is very close to the original Buddha of history. You will find how to over come greed, hatred, and delusion by over coming clinging and the false view of self. It has the greatest explanation of the Noble Eightfold path I have ever read. The Four Noble truths are the main theme of these scriptures. If you have already read the Dhammapada and have some understanding of Buddhism then buy this for the advanced learning. However this book is not for beginners and non-Buddhists may not be able to grasp it. Bhikkhu Boddhi has written wonderful introductions to each section that really prepare you to receive the teachings. 5 Stars, thank you Bhikkhu.

Thank you to Bhikku Bodhi for his tremendous effort. If you are a serious practitioner, especially a lone practitioner as I am, this book is invaluable for making available the undiluted teachings of the Buddha himself. Most of the books in my Buddhist library have been helpful to some extent or other but most are explanations of the teachings, i.e. the Buddha's words once-removed. I rank very highly What the Buddha Taught, by Walpola Rahula. This book is much more extensive. It is also more accessible than The Middle Length Discourses (trans. Bhiddhu Nanamoli and Bhiddhu Bodhi) because it is organized into general topics, such as "The Human Condition" and "Mastering the Mind." Highly recommended as a life reference.

This fountain is quiet and attractive. The only thing is you have to keep on eye on it because the water gets low in a few days. Every third day I take my small watering can I use for the indoor plants and refill this fountain. If the water gets too low the motor sounds stressed out. Over time if the water level is low repeatedly it will wear the motor out. Keep on eye on it and all is well. My fountain was purchased at a local gift shop.

I purchased my "Blameless Buddha Trio" because I was experiencing self-induced stress at work. The three little men sit under my computer monitor and are a constant reminder of how I can create inner peace. Before my purchase, I was experiencing stress at work. I decided to reduce my stress level by changing my thought patterns and my reactions to people at work. So, these three little statues remind me daily to speak no evil, see no evil, and hear no evil. Instead, I speak about situations, see situations, and hear situations that need my attention. I remind myself to remove the personality from the situation and acknowledge the role that my ego contributed the situation. As a result, my stress level had been reduced, and I'm at peace.

I purchased this as a gift thinking it would be great for my Buddhist friend. I was extremely disappointed when I received them. They were very cheaply made, had numerous flaws, and were not even attached to the bases the photo shows them sitting on, they are completely separate from the statue. Needless to say, I will be sending these back.
